Jim Barstow
DevOps
Jim has been developing software since he was just 9 years old (prior to the rise of SkyNet… aka “The Internet”). Well versed in over a dozen languages, he insists on re-purposing technology into things it was never intended for. Jim is skilled in both software and hardware design, with a background in software development, network engineering, telecom engineering, and making impossible things happen, just to prove they can be done.
On the Lighter Side...
Jim has developed an intense rivalry with the soda machine at DE. The one piece of technology Jim has yet to crack, the machine was built by our programming team and is equipped with the ability to learn and think artificially. The machine has taken exception to Jim’s excessive and forceful button pushing as he demands mountain dew after mountain dew. Now, in a bold, defiant move, the machine spits out diet cokes when Jim attempts to extract the glowing green goodness. However, in the end, man outsmarted machine. Jim discovered the pop machine’s only weakness– a tiny chrome key. Once that key fell into Jim’s hands, the pop machine had no choice but to give into his demands.
