Decker Chaney

Ruth-Decker Chaney (known as "Decker") grew up in a high tech household in which she was an active participant. For example, in high school, her father had her make Ethernet cables while watching "Looney Tunes" on Saturday mornings in order to help him create an extensive computer network. Decker is a science and theater nerd with undergrad degrees in Biological Anthropology and Theater Studies with a minor in Medieval-Renaissance Studies from Duke University in 2004. She just finished her Master's degree at Vanderbilt in Science Education, and joins DE as a Super Support Staffer in our Nashville Office.
On the Lighter Side...
Decker earned a Black Belt in Sanshinkai-Aiki Karate on December 14, 2005, after only 3 years of training. Unfortunately, on December 21, 2005, she tore her ACL kicking a guy in the head (gives the name “Decker” a whole new meaning). Also, she has been reported to be able to make “the best carrot cake known to man”. However, she does not like eating carrot cake. There are also reports of baked goods appearing when she is around.
