Recently, Dynamic Edge celebrated 15 years of existence. That is 15 years of helping businesses by eliminating computer problems. Does that alone make a great company? Not necessarily. What else have we done, you ask? Lots.
Since 1999, we’ve donated over $250,000 worth of technology services to great nonprofits through our Technology Grant program. These organizations work through education, literacy programs, increased graduation rates, and providing a safe haven.
Here are a few organizations we have donated our time, technology, and passion to over the last 15 years:
- Martha O’Bryan Center: Focused on providing educational services and a way out for the children and adults of Nashville’s largest public housing communities.
- Detroit’s Cody High School Technology Club: We created the club to act as role models for students who were attending an innercity Detroit High School while teaching them how to repair computers.
- Special Days Camp: Helping children suffering from cancer escape reality at a summer camp retreat.
- Nashville CARES: Dedicated to the education and prevention of HIV transmission.
- Boys and Girls Clubs of Detroit and Huron Valley: Provides youth development programs to children from all walks of life.
- Washtenaw Literacy: Assists men and women with improving their reading and writing skills.
- 826 Michigan: Supports students with their creative and expository writing skills.
What does it look like when we help an organization? I decided to take a closer look at one and share my findings.
Back in May of 2006 we built out a website for SafeHouse (www.safehouse.org). This organization provides free and confidential services to over 4,000 women, children and men per year. We have maintained the site for them for the last eight years and created an online section to help connect people in need with assistance. The site also includes easily accessible information regarding emergency shelter, counseling, support groups, emergency numbers, and legal documents. Over the years, we built out a donor and volunteer section in the site to help connect SafeHouse with people who wanted to lend a hand.
When I started Dynamic Edge, I wanted to help people. Today, we work really hard to find people that Enjoy-Helping-People right down to the core of their being. It really makes me feel good to look back and see that our team isn’t only building a great company and helping our users; we are helping the community along the way.
Happy 15 year anniversary to Dynamic Edge and thank you to all the DynEdgers who are focused on continuing the journey to greatness.
