As technology and scammers evolve, we should also personally strive to advance our knowledge and be as proactive as possible to protect our assets and information.

Here are 5 Personal Asset and Information Protection Tips from a cyber security expert, and Dynamic Edge CEO, Tim Neiman:

  1. Be suspicious about phone calls. If you think it’s real, ask to call them back at the customer service number on your bill. If possible, lookup the customer service number on your bill or the internet.
  2. Never let someone connect to your computer, phone or tablet unless you’ve imitated the call.
  3. Legitimate businesses will not ask for credit card, ATM, or bank information over the phone.
  4. Education. The FTC has a website where they publish info on phone scams as well as a place to report if you believe you’ve had your identity stolen.
  5. Consider personal Identity Theft Insurance such as Identity Force or PrivacyGuard.
